Cupless Race:
In order to help keep the trail free from litter, we are now going cupless at the aid stations. This means there will be no paper cups at the aid stations at this race. Runners will be responsible for carrying their own container to refill along the way. Hydropak reusable cups may be purchased with registration or on race day OR we encourage you to bring your own. Grab a cup, a hydration vest, pouch, or water bottle and you can fill it at each aid station along the way. We ask you to help us in our efforts by preparing for a cup-free race day and thank you in advance for being good stewards of the trail.

All 50M runners must meet at Valentine Lake Campground entrance on race day no later than 5:30 am for the 6:00 am start. All MTB participants need to be at the Valentine Lake Day Use area by 8:15 am for 8:30am start. You will be provided a MAP of the trail and locations of the self-service aid stations. It would be advisable for you to pack your cell phone in case of an emergency. We will provide contact numbers so we can get to you as quickly as possible.

Camping: For those wanting to camp, space is available at the Valentine Lake Campground located ½ mile from the race Start/Finish.

Aid boxes will be along the Wild Azalea Trail approximately every 4 miles and includes water, Gatorade, coke, Gu, bananas, pretzels, snicker bites, crackers, toilet paper, and band-aids. A trash bag will be out for all waste to be put in. The first half of each bike route will be on forest service roads that leave the Wild Azalea trail and will have no aid stations. The second half of each bike route will have multiple stations to refuel.

Food, Beer and Bragging will abound at the Finish Line!!

Awards/T-shirt, etc.:

All finishers receive a WAT race medal with our race logo and a finisher's t-shirt confirming your bragging rights. Male and female awards will be for first, second, third only to overall participants in each of the five race categories. Also, first place Masters will receive an award.  All 50 mile bikers and runners will receive a logo coffee mug.

Please check out our Facebook link for all things Wild Azalea. It will serve as the race portal for all updates, additional info, and forum for asking any questions related to the race.
